• Anchorage police ID men found dead in park

  ANCHORAGE — Anchorage police have released the name of a second man who was found dead in a local park over the weekend.
  Kevin Turner, 34,  of Anchorage was one of two homicide victims found early Sunday morning at Valley of the Moon Park, police said.
  Police also have identified the other man as Bryant Dehusson, 25, of Anchorage.
  No one has been arrested, Police spokeswoman Renee Oistad said.
  Police are declining to say how the men died.

• Crystal Serenity brought tourists, but little profit for Nome businesses

  Last week, the cruise ship Crystal Serenity sailed into Nome and 850 of the cruise ship’s passengers were ferried in from the offshore vessel and took the day to tour the city.
  Those passengers accounted for a roughly 25 percent increase in Nome’s population, and for local businesses that meant a hypothetical increase in profits.

• City of Homer updates domestic animal policies

  At a recent Homer City Council meeting the council unanimously approved an ordinance that updates city code related to domestic animals.
  The change is based on recommendations from the Sustainable Animal Control Review Committee.
  The ordinance came to the assembly from the city manager and the police chief.
  It revised code and adjusted fees and fines associated with the animal shelter, made modifications related to kennels and redefined an animal at-large, among other things.

• Akutan man dies at seafood plant

  In Akutan, a 36-year-old man died of an apparent suicide at the Trident Seafood plant last week.
  According to Alaska State Troopers, Akutan’s village public safety officer responded to the incident Aug. 23, along with a Wildlife Trooper from Unalaska.
  Troopers say they do not suspect foul play.The man’s body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Anchorage for an autopsy.

  A 53-year-old Twin Hills man was arrested Sunday following allegations he molested three young children.
  According to a charging document, state troopers had been investigating Robert Charles Nicholai since an August 10 report involving two children. A parent of a third victim called two weeks later to ask why no one had interviewed another child. All three are under 10 years old.
