  ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) –   The push to bring back the death penalty has a strong new ally: the mother of Ashlynne Mike. Pamela Foster has started a Change.org petition that features a picture of her and Ashlynne on the cover.
  Ashlynne was murdered earlier this year near Shiprock after she was kidnapped just down the road from her house. The crime happened on the Navajo nation which has opted out of the federal death penalty.

  HOBBS, N.M. (KRQE) – People in Hobbs are busy cleaning up after they got a shocking amount of rain over the weekend.
  Areas around Hobbs picked up between three and five inches.
  Flash flooding led to several road closures and neighborhoods almost completely underwater. Heavy wind was also a factor.
