  RED RIVER, N.M. (KRQE) – A 16-year-old accused of killing another teen in Red River will not be tried as an adult.
  Aron Garcia was 15 when he allegedly shot and killed Daniel Caleb Williams at a cabin. Williams was a well-known snowboarder.
  Garcia claimed it was an accident.
  During a recent hearing prosecutors argued it was premeditated and involved a sawed-off shotgun. They also alleged that Garcia was abusing drugs since he was 12.

  Thieves burglarized then tried to steal a firefighter’s truck at this station. That station has had such a problem with vehicle burglaries that the firefighter’s union has decided to buy surveillance cameras to catch the thieves in the act.

  SAYREVILLE, N.J. (AP) — An off-duty New Jersey police officer has been found shot to death in his car in the parking lot of a closed movie theater complex.

  SANTA FE (KRQE) – Santa Fe Police are looking for a well-dressed man they say robbed a gas station.
  Police say the suspect robbed the Giant Gas Station on Sawmill Road while wearing a fedora type hat, glasses, a blue sports jacket, blue dress pants and black dress shoes.

  SANTA FE (AP) – The New Mexico Department of Health says childhood obesity rates in the state may be beginning to level off after a downward trend in recent years.
  The department says childhood obesity among third-graders dropped 16 percent between 2010 and 2015 while dropping 10 percent among kindergartners, but each category increased slightly between 2014 and 2015.
