  ATHENS, Ala. (AP) — Expecting to write a ticket for speeding, an Alabama State Trooper ended up helping a woman give birth.
  Danny Lowe, of Huntsville, said he was driving his pregnant wife, Shawna, to an Athens hospital Sunday morning when he was pulled over by Trooper Michael Kesler for speeding, news outlets reported.

  ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Police released more information on a body found near a dumpster in Albuquerque.
  On Monday, the Albuquerque Police Department said Friday’s investigation would continue as a homicide case. Originally, police believed the case would be a suspicious death and it was deemed a violent crimes call out.
  Officers said they have identified the man but they are waiting to tell the family before they release his identity. Police have not yet said the cause of death.

  FARMINGTON, N.M. (KRQE) – U.S. Marshals, along with Albuquerque police and the Farmington Police Department Gang Unit, arrested 28-year-old Raul Dominguez Lopez, Jr. in Albuquerque on Friday.
  Lopez was wanted in connection to a shooting that happened last Tuesday at the Mesa Village Apartments in Farmington.

  The proposal was written by a state lawmaker from Gallup, an area with a high number of hypothermia deaths linked to alcohol abuse. The money to pay for it would come from the state’s liquor tax. The bill would set aside $40,000 for the county each month.
