• Teens receive ‘Good Samaritan’ award for saving an Albuquerque woman’s life

  ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Two students from West Mesa High School had a good excuse for being late to practice – they saved someone’s life.
  Andy Chavez and Elio Luna have both been awarded the City of Albuquerque Good Samaritan Award for their role in saving a women last September.
  The teens were stopped at a gas station on Coors when they spotted the woman in her car having a stroke.
  They broke her car open and called 911.

  ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – A former New Mexico Children, Youth and Families Department employee has pleaded guilty to child solicitation charges.
  Benjamin Anaya, 51, worked in the CYFD mail room when he was arrested for paying young girls to send him naked pictures.
  He had been at CYFD for 17 years, but officials say at no time did he have contact with children as part of his job.

  DESTIN, Fla. (AP) — A man and woman from Texas were killed when a small plane they were in crashed into the Gulf of Mexico off the Florida Panhandle, officials said Friday.

  Federal prosecutors say 63-year-old Pawankumar Jain entered his plea Thursday.
