  ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – The Albuquerque BioPark welcomed a new resident recently. Sunny, an endangered Komodo dragon, is the latest inhabitant at the zoo.
  The hope is that when Sunny meets Nancy, the other Komodo dragon at the zoo, the two will mate. Right now, they’re getting to know each other in a separate enclosure adjoined by a window.
  Sunny is 10 feet long and weighs 154 pounds. He comes to New Mexico from a Honolulu zoo.

  ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) – A man wanted in a 2013 fatal shooting in New Mexico has been arrested in Mexico.
  The U.S. Marshals Service says Pedro Duenas-Madruga was found hiding in Cancun and taken into custody last Friday.
  Federal authorities say Duenas-Madruga has been returned to the U.S. and currently is in custody in Houston, Texas as he awaits extradition to New Mexico.

  ALBUQUERQUE (KRQE) – Albuquerque Police say a fencing operation bust has turned up more than $60,000 worth of stolen items.
  The bust took place Monday at a home in the 2400 block of Cardenas NE, just west of Coronado Shopping Center. Seven people were arrested and the home was raided.
  Inside, officers found a treasure trove of items, including passports, TV’s, computers, collectible baseball cards, a painting that’s estimated to be more than 100 years old and a sword from U.S.

  Attorney Marc Robert said the magistrate judge on Tuesday issued the detention ruling after hearing arguments about whether 34-year-old Davon Lymon should be released pending trial.
  Robert declined to comment further on the case.
