    The problem with the term “dryland” is that it encourages us to think of training outside the water as a separate activity. Swimming happens in the pool. Dryland happens somewhere else.
    In reality, there should be no separation.
    Everything a swimmer does should contribute to becoming a better swimmer. The work performed outside the water should support what happens in the water. When those two environments become disconnected, training loses its purpose.

    Continuing a hot streak of big swims worldwide, Rochester Swim Club’s Elliot Leasure got in on the action with a massive 50 backstroke performance in Minneapolis at the Aquajets Summer Spectacular, notching a new 13-14 National Age Group Record in 26.00, erasing the former NAG record by more than a half second.
    Leasure, 14, took down the former record time of 26.70, set by Jack Alexy in 2017.
