Chip Somodevilla / Getty Images
Facebook is working with outside researchers to study how its apps influence "key political attitudes and behaviors during the US 2020 elections," the company announced Monday.
As part of the study, it will pay Facebook and Instagram users — possibly between $10 and $20 per week — to stop using the app, The Washington Post's Elizabeth Dwoskin reported Thursday.
The company expects between 200,000 and 400,000 users to participate in the study, which wil -

Two F-15E fighter jets fire AIM-7M missiles during a training mission off the coast of Florida, November 5, 2002.
US Air Force
The US military has spent recent years shifting its attention to the challenges posed by competitors that can match or in some cases exceed the capabilities of US forces.
A future conflict with such adversaries will be a marked departure from recent combat, and losses in such a fight could approach the levels of World War II, the Air Force chief of staff wrote in a rece -

In private beta testing of its Starlink internet satellites, SpaceX says it has found low latency and high download speeds of 100 megabits per second.
"Space lasers" also transferred hundreds of gigabytes of data between two Starlink satellites during a test, the company said.
