How insurer Vitality is winning new customers and boosting sales by making people healthier
Health and life insurance firm Vitality is on a mission to turn what is often considered a fairly dull sector on its head.
“While traditional insurers focus a lot on illness, and doom and gloom stories, that’s not Vitality. We focus on wellness,” explains marketing and people director, Keith Kropman.
Vitality was launched at the beginning of last year after Prudential Health Holdings’ made the decision to rebrand its PruHealth and PruProtect products a -
Do marketers still want what Twitter is selling?
Twitter’s revenue growth hit its lowest level since 2013 last quarter, raising questions over its ability to attract advertisers to the platform. Though revenue was up 20% year-on-year to $602m, that was the social media platform’s lowest revenue growth since 2013 when Twitter went public. In the same quarter in 2015, Twitter saw a 61% rise in revenue.
The results came in below consensus estimates of $607m (£463m) with Twitter saying in a letter to shareholders it has seen &ldq -

ITV puts faith in ‘power of TV advertising’ to see off ‘short-term issues’ around Brexit
ITV is looking to cut costs by £25m in 201, following the referendum vote to leave the EU, but CEO Adam Crozier insists “the market has not changed yet” and that it is prepared to deal with any Brexit shockwaves.
The broadcaster’s figures show total external revenue was up 11% year on year to £1.5bn in the six months to 30 June, while ITV Studios total revenue increased 31% to £651m for the same period.

Benetton hunts for ‘respect and desirability’ with new marketing strategy
Benetton is looking to establish a stronger brand identity and increase “respect” for the brand among consumers with a new marketing campaign and creative platform ‘Clothes for Humans’.
The new strategy aims to celebrate “the beauty of everyday moments and everyday emotions” through the brand’s clothes. To do this, the fashion retailer has divided its products into three categories; ‘dress up’, for job opportunities where a certain elegance i -
Here's what Jack Dorsey said about selling Twitter (TWTR)
Twitter's business is struggling, and its stock price has been pummeled, erasing billions of dollars in market value.
With the current spree of tech acquisitions, highlighted by Verizon's $5 billion deal to buy Yahoo earlier this week, speculation continues to swirl that Twitter could be the next big takeover target.
During the company's quarterly-results conference call on Tuesday, an analyst asked CEO Jack Dorsey why it makes sense for Twitter to continue to operate as an independent comp -
It's time to take a serious look at Tim Cook's leadership of Apple (AAPL)
On August 24, 2011, Tim Cook took over from Steve Jobs as the permanent CEO of Apple. He's been in charge ever since.
So how's he doing after five years?
Apple's earnings report for the quarter that ended on June 30 beat Wall Street's expectations, sending the stock up about 7% after-hours. Apple is still the most valuable company in the world, and earns more profit in a quarter than most other tech companies do in a year.
But at the same time, Apple's revenue has started shrinking.&nb -

Here's how Twitter explained its struggles after a sad earnings report (TWTR)
Twitter's stock plunged more than 11% after hours on Tuesday afternoon after it delivered disappointing Q2 earnings.
The biggest driver of the crash was the company's guidance for next quarter, which was significantly lower than predicted ($590 million to $610 million versus the $681.4 million analysts expected).
Twitter blamed the low guidance on the fact that there was "less overall advertiser demand than expected." Brands didn't want to give Twitter their money.

Tim Cook just reignited speculation about Apple's 'bigger' plans for TV (AAPL)
Investors and Apple fans have long been waiting for Apple to do something big with TVs.
Sure, Apple has sold the Apple TV box for years. But that box is really just a streaming box that attaches to your television, not much different from a Roku.
The real hope is that Apple would completely re-invent the television, the way that it reinvented cell phones with the iPhone. But year after year, despite analyst forecasts, Apple has disappointed those waiting for the big TV play.

Apple crushed expectations across the board, and the stock is way up (AAPL)
Apple stock jumped as much as 6.5% after the company reported earnings per share higher than what Wall Street was expecting.
Revenue was directly in line with Apple's own guidance, but it is still down 14.5% from the same period last year.
Apple's most surprising beat was in iPads, in which it sold nearly 1 million more units than what analysts had predicted.
But its gross margin missed after its low-cost $400 iPhone proved more popular than had been expected.
CEO Tim Cook told CNBC th
