  Pierce Brosnan has come under fire for appearing in an Indian advertisement in which he promotes a product commonly associated with a highly addictive form of chewing tobacco known for its addictive psychotropic effects.

  HMRC are investigating more than 100 BBC presenters for using “personal service companies” which may have reduced their tax bills.
  The use of personal service companies allows employees to receive their income through companies rather than being paid directly which can in effect significantly lower their tax payments and the national insurance contributions of their employers.

  The Guardian has admitted that its story about Jeremy Corbyn’s ride on a “ram-packed” train in which he could not get a seat was inaccurate and was based on a “gonzo news release” by two of the Labour leader’s supporters.
  An internal inquiry by the newspaper found that the initial account was written by a “passionate” supporter of Corbyn's under a false name and was based on video footage from a cameraman paid by the Labour leader’s campaign.
