• Police Officer Rescues Modesto Girl, 17, From Human Trafficking In San Rafael

  SAN RAFAEL (CBS13) – A police officer is being credited with rescuing a Modesto teen from human trafficking in San Rafael.
  San Rafael police say Corporal Lilah Gavlick was patrolling the 700 block of E. Francisco Boulevard on April 19 when, around 2:30 a.m., she spotted a car driving through the parking lot of a motel without a front license plate.
  Cpl. Gavlick pulled over the car as it drove towards the Interstate 580 on-ramp.

• Large Boat Dumped Along Rural Stockton Road

  STOCKTON (CBS13) – Someone recently took a different take on the nautical term “abandon ship.”
  A large boat was dumped along S. Cal Pack and Klein roads in Stockton, near the dead end, according to a statement from the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office.
  “We need to work together to keep our community clean,” the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office stated.

  SOUTH LAKE TAHOE (CBS13) – A homeowner came out to their car recently and found their car door had been opened.

  When they checked their security camera, they found it wasn’t a person who opened the door, but a bear that had been wandering through the neighborhood.

  Scott Russo says the sheep were grazing on the field behind his house, working as natural lawn mowers.
  His two young daughters apparently wanted to get a closer look, so they opened up the back gate – but then in came the whole flock, along with some goats.

  WEST SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A man is under arrest after he allegedly got into a West Sacramento auto shop to try and burglarize it.
  The incident happened early Thursday morning at the Firestone Complete Auto Care shop on Ikea Court.
