    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A man is behind bars, charged with felony driving under the influence, following a fatal crash in South Sacramento on Saturday night.
    It happened on Franklin Boulevard and Idaho Drive around 9:00 p.m.
    Booked at the Sacramento County Main Jail for felony driving under the influence.
    Police say 35-year-old Allen Veng crashed into another car, killing its driver and injuring two passengers.

  • Two Officers And Suspect Struck In Elk Grove Officer-Involved Shooting

    ELK GROVE (CBS13) — Two officers and a suspect were hurt in an early morning officer-involved shooting late Saturday night.
    Elk Grove Police said an officer responded to a burglary call of an RV on Tegan Road where he encountered a male and female, around 11:15 p.m. Saturday.
    The male reportedly took off running, initiating a chase on foot that ended in the Walgreens parking lot at Laguna and Franklin.

  • Mudslide On Highway 50 Temporarily Closes Lane

    UPDATE 11:17 p.m. — Caltrans says the slide is now clear, all lanes have reopened, and traffic is moving smoothly through the area.
    TWIN BRIDGES (CBS13) — Caltrans crews are on the way to a mudslide on Highway 50.

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Sacramento Police say one person is dead following a single-vehicle crash on Fruitridge Road.
    It happened Saturday night just before 10:00 p.m. at Mendocino Boulevard.

    UPDATE 9:56 p.m. — Police say they located an adult male with one gunshot wound around 3:00 p.m. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died.

  • Attempted Murder Suspect Behind Bars In Elk Grove

    ELK GROVE (CBS13) — A man behind bars, accused of stabbing two people in Elk Grove.
    It happened just before 7 p.m. Friday.
    Police say they found both victims with stab wounds on Dantley Court near Rossport Way.

    Officers arrested Eric Mauck, who they say is related to both victims, for attempted murder.

    AUBURN (CBS13) — Three baby foxes are temporarily resting at the Gold Country Wildlife Rescue in Auburn.
