• Stockton Police Take Three Guns Off The Street

    STOCKTON (CBS13) — Stockton Police say they seized three handguns in separate incidents on Saturday.
    The first happened Saturday afternoon on the 2000 block of South Sikh Street, when they say they witnessed people drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana on the street. They arrested Oscar Chavez-Mexicano, 18, for weapons charges.

    UPDATE 11:27 p.m. — The Sacramento County Sherrif’s Department says two men people are dead in the shooting. One died at the scene. One died at a nearby hospital.

    It happened at the intersection of Elkhorn and Andrea around 9:20 p.m.

  • One On The Run, Two Behind Bars For Fatal Hit And Run In Stockton

    STOCKTON (CBS13) — People are talking about the danger of simply walking in this area in Stockton.
    An unidentified woman was struck and killed walking along Church Street near Lincoln Friday afternoon.
    Police say two cars were driving erratically when one driver lost control.
    They also say one suspect is still on the run but two men have been arrested. 18-year-old Alberto Villalazo, and 18-year-old Favio Nunez are behind bars.

  • Search Called Off For Stockton Man Who Jumped Out Of Boat To Save Son In Fast-Moving Delta Waters

    ISLETON (CBS13) — Search crews have still not located a 41-year-old man who reportedly dove into the San Joaquin River to save his one-year-old son Friday morning. CBS13 is being told crews have called off the search.

    TURLOCK (CBS13) — Fire and police are on the scene of an RV fire west of Turlock.
    Crows Landing Road at Linwood Avenue is currently closed.Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department says several fire agencies are on the scene.

  • Police Honor Fallen Sacramento Deputy During Training Ride

    ELK GROVE (CBS13) — Riders with the local Police Unity Tour stopped on Saturday at the memorial for Sacramento County Deputy Jeff Mitchell.
    The riders are training for an annual 300-mile bike ride in May that goes from New Jersey to Washington, D.C.

    The officers gave Deputy Mitchell’s mom a plaque during a ceremony.

  • New I Street Bridge Renderings Released

    WEST SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — New concept drawings for the replacement I Street bridge are now out for the public to see.
    The architectural firm designing the bridge has submitted nine different styles for the public to weigh in on, ranging from simple to elaborate.

    Construction of the new bridge is set to begin in 2021.
    It will connect West Sacramento and Sacramento, just north of where the current I Street bridge now stands.
