• Man Arrested After Leading Chase In Placerville

    PLACERVILLE (CBS13) – A Placerville man is under arrest after authorities said he led them on a chase Wednesday morning.
    The incident started along Missouri Flat Road near Walmart. According to California Highway Patrol’s Placerville division, an officer spotted a car in that area that had been reported stolen a couple days ago.

    CARNELIAN BAY (CBS13) – The latest on the search for a missing North Lake Tahoe woman:
    12:30 p.m.
    Authorities say Kathryn “Lani” Jones has been found dead by Placer County search and rescue volunteers.

    ROCKLIN (CBS13) – A two-year-old cat that survived more than 100 days in Butte County’s Camp Fire zone is being reunited with his family.
    “Dexter” was found just a mile away from where his home was burned to the ground in the Camp Fire.

    MODESTO (CBS13) – A man is dead after being struck and killed on Highway 99 early Thursday morning.
    The incident happened on the northbound side of the freeway, south of Pelandale Avenue.
    According to California Highway Patrol, a woman was driving on the freeway when – a little before 1 a.m. – she spotted a person running from the center median. She swerved to avoid the person, but hit him.
    The person, only identified as male at this point, was pronounced dead at the scene.
