    ELK GROVE (CBS13) – An Elk Grove Staples employee is suspected of stealing thousands of dollars from the store, police say.
    Elk Grove police arrested Cherise Eastman on Tuesday after an investigation.

    Detectives say, over the course of a month, Eastman stole about $13,000 from Staples. Eastman was an employee at the store, but police say they’re not sure for how long.

    COLFAX (CBS13) – Detectives are asking for help in finding whoever has been shooting BB and pellet guns at cars and homes in Colfax.
    The incidents in question happened between Sept. 8-24. According to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office, the suspects shot at both parked and moving cars. One of the incidents happened on eastbound Interstate 80 near Clipper Gap.

  • Big Rig Fire On EB Highway 50 In Sacramento Blocking Traffic

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A big rig fire has lanes on Highway 50 near 48th blocked late Wednesday morning.
    The crash happened just after 10 a.m.
    The eastbound 1-3 lanes are closed, Caltrans says. Traffic is backing up at least a mile.
    All westbound lanes are open, but traffic is slow.

    STOCKTON (CBS13) — A robbery in a strip club parking lot, turned deadly Tuesday morning.
    It happened at Deja Vu on West Lane. San Joaquin County sheriff’s deputies say the victim was robbed, hit by a car and then dragged.

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Caltrans is announcing new emergency repair work on another major Sacramento freeway.
    This comes after large potholes damaged dozens of cars in September along Interstate 5 in downtown Sacramento. Now, there are similar problems being reported on Highway 50.
    On average, more than 200,000 vehicles pass along the stretch of Highway 50 every day, and Caltrans officials say they’re hoping to stop problems before they start.

    EL DORADO COUNTY (CBS13) — A woman accused of operating a daycare while under the influence has been found guilty of five counts of child endangerment.
    A jury found Brigette Ursula McAdams, the former owner of Country Baby Daycare, guilty in less than an hour.
