    SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) – Some California Democrats want to make college tuition free for in-state students by taxing very wealthy residents.
    Assemblywoman Susan Talamantes Eggman said Monday she’s introducing a bill to create a 1 percent tax on Californians earning more than $1 million per year. The Stockton Democrat says the tax would provide an estimated $2.2 billion each year – enough revenue to make public colleges tuition free for residents.

    FOLSOM (CBS13) – Two people were killed and two were others were injured in a head-on crash involving multiple vehicles near the intersection of White Rock and Prairie City roads.
    A CHP spokesperson says that around 8:20 a.m. today, the driver of a gold Toyota Highlander was driving recklessly, and traveling at speeds estimated between 80-100 miles per hour when they hit a Dodge SUV head-on at the intersection of White Rock and Prairie City roads.

    Four People Injured In Head-On Multi-Car Crash In Folsom
    FOLSOM (CBS13) – Four people have been injured in a head-on crash involving multiple vehicles near the intersection of White Rock Road near Prairie City Road.
    CHP have issued a sigalert and have closed White Rock Road near the intersection. Three cars have been involved. Officers have not confirmed whether someone was killed.
    Personnel from Folsom Fire Department, Folsom Police Department, and CHP are at the crash site.

    Truck Hauling Cement To Oroville Dam Crashes, Driver Killed
    (CBS13) – A truck driver hauling cement to the Oroville Dam crashed and died early Sunday morning on Highway 70 near Power House Hill Road.
    Butte County Sheriff deputies responded to the crash around 7:30 a.m. When deputies arrived on the scene, they found the concrete mixer had somehow detached from the truck.
    The driver was identified as Peter Anderson, 51, of Marysville. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Anderson worked for Mathew’s Ready Mix based out of Yuba City.

    25 Rescued After Boat Takes On Water Off Southern California Coast
    SAN DIEGO (AP) — Twenty-five passengers and crewmembers are safely ashore after a charter fishing boat took on water off Southern California during the weekend.
    The Coast Guard says its San Diego operations center received a distress call from the 63-foot vessel Truline at 2:51 a.m. Sunday, reporting it struck a submerged object near San Clemente Island.
    The Coast Guard dispatched a helicopter, a 45-foot boat and the cutter Sockeye, and a Navy ship in the area also diverted to the scene.

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a homicide that happened inside the surf motel off Auburn Boulevard.
    The incident was first reported to deputies around 11:45 p.m. Sunday. Someone inside the motel at 3204 Boulevard called 911 saying they heard a gunshot in the area, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department.The investigation continues at a local motel on Auburn Boulevard after a woman is found dead inside one of the rooms. @GoodDaySac
