    Police Investigate Threatening Texts; Lodi High School Boy, 17, Arrested
    LODI (CBS13) – A 17-year-old boy has been arrested after he allegedly sent threatening text messages, police say.
    Lodi police say several concerning text messages between students at Lodi High School were brought to their attention recently. The messages reportedly mentioned guns, shootings and even included photos of ammo and firearm parts.
    After an investigation by Lodi police and school administration, a 17-year-old boy was arrested. Due to his age, his name is not being released.

    IKEA Recalls Beach Chairs After Reports Of Collapsing, Fingertip Amputations
    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – IKEA has issued a recall of its colorful beach chairs over concerns they could collapse and pose falling and fingertip amputation hazards.
    The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall on Friday. About 33,400 MYSINGSÖ chairs sold to consumers are affected by the recall.
    At least 13 incidents of the chair failing have been reported worldwide. Of those, 10 incidents saw injuries – and 6 resulted in fingertip amputations.

    Man On California Death Row Taken To Hospital, Dies
    SAN QUENTIN (CBS13) – A man on California death row has been found dead, prison officials say.
    James David Majors, 69, was on death row at San Quentin State Prison since 1991 for the robbery and first-degree murders of three people at a Fair Oaks home. Majors had come to California from Arizona to buy a pound of methamphetamine.
    Majors was convicted in Sacramento County court and was given the death penalty.

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – The district attorney’s office says they’ve decided that the officers who shot Sacramento resident Joseph Mann acted lawfully.
    Mann’s family has been calling for federal prosecution of the officers involved in the July 2016 incident.

    NORTH HIGHLANDS (CBS13) – A man has died in a crash on Interstate 80 early Friday morning.
    The scene is on westbound I-80 just past Madison Avenue. California Highway Patrol says a little after 3 a.m. calls started coming in about “blacked-out” car on the side of the freeway.

    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Power lines crashed down onto a moving vehicle, causing a big outage for hundreds in Sacramento.
    “I did hear a crash, but didn’t think anything of it until the lights flinched,” said Stephanie Perales, who is staying at the shelter next door.

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) – Two cousins were sentenced Thursday to life prison terms in the 1973 shotgun slayings of two young girls in Northern California, said Deputy Yuba County District Attorney John Vacek.
