    The statewide total number of cases has risen to 186,297 since Monday’s report, according to the state’s data.
    The number of tests administered within the last seven days, between Oct. 14-20, is 225,406 with 10,226 positive cases, the Health Department says. There were 25,152 test results reported to the department through 10 p.m.

    Mother And Boyfriend Get Maximum Sentences In Beating Death Of Woman’s 2-Year-Old Son
    PRINCETON, W.Va. (AP) — A West Virginia mother and her boyfriend have been sentenced in the beating death of the woman’s 2-year-old son.
    John Colan Powers, 47, and Candice Jones, 32, both of Green Valley, were charged in the August 2018 death of Jones’ 2-year-old son, Joseph Garbosky III.
    Judge Mark Wills sentenced Powers on Monday to life in prison and sentenced Jones to three to 15 years in prison, the maximum time under her plea deal, the Bluefield Daily Telegraph reported.

    GREENSBURG, Pa. (KDKA) — Hempfield Area High School will remain closed for the rest of the week.
    The superintendent says another high school student and middle school student have tested positive for coronavirus. A total of 12 high school students have tested positive since last Monday.
    High school sports are also being canceled for the remainder of the week.

    The Allegheny County Board of Elections said it is still catching up from the problem last week when its third-party mailing company caused almost 30,000 people to receive the wrong ballot. The entire mailing process was paused for a week to make corrections.
