    Frankfort High students Carter Edmonds and Sawyer Lona are interested in careers in aviation, and they recently received DFC (DreamFlight Charities) Flight Training Scholarships to help achieve that goal.
    For this accomplishment, they have been named WesBanco Students of the Week.
    The scholarships offer select students upwards of $6,000, taking them from zero hours in an aircraft to close to their solo flight with one of the organization’spartnering flight schools.

    Alexander, McDaniel win at Governor’s Open golf tournament
    Kyle Alexander and Todd McDaniel were the winners in the 62nd annual Governor’s Open pro-am golf tournament, played Sept. 12-13 at Juniper Hill.
    Alexander won the Professional Flight with a two-day, 13-under par 127 (64-63), and McDaniel was the low amateur, shooting a nine-under par 131 (67-64) to win the Championship Flight. Levi Keith was runner-up with a 134 (70-64).

    It has been a long, difficult two months for Amina Seck.
    Seck, who played basketball at Kentucky State University for two seasons, was released from custody Wednesday after being detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Aug. 7 at Muhammad Ali International Airport in Louisville.

    Always watching: Residents raise concerns about Flock cameras
    After several residents brought up privacy concerns regarding Flock cameras during public comment at the Sept. 28 Board of Commissioners meeting, City Commissioner Leesa Unger made a motion to terminate the remainder of the contract.
    Though her motion was seconded by Commissioner Katima Smith-Willis, it failed to pass 3-2 with Mayor Layne Wilkerson casting the decisive vote.
