    Sheila Rae Anglen, of Frankfort, Kentucky, passed away on October 1, 2026, at Frankfort Regional Medical Center, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and laughter.
    Sheila was born August 1, 1953, in Belleville, Illinois, to parents Raymond and Barbara Frantz who preceded her in death, as well as a brother, Steve Frantz.

    Franklin County’s Lyla Hardesty has played in the first round of the girls state golf tournament the past two years.
    This year Hardesty is going a step farther, and she has been named the Traditional Bank Athlete of the Week.

    A Frankfort man is accused of shooting a gun inside a Douglas Avenue residence Monday night.
    Frankfort Police were called to the area in reference to a suspicious person at 9:31 p.m. As officers approached the front door a gunshot was fired from inside the home. After taking cover, police called the occupants out of the residence. Four people exited the residence and advised Carlos Moore discharged a firearm and fled out the back door.

    Western Hills’ girls volleyball won the first two sets Thursday against Franklin County and after dropping the third set rallied to win 3-1 (25-15, 25-23, 15-25, 25-23) at WHHS.
    It was the first time in six years the Lady Wolverines defeated FCHS.
