  • Colorado Father Arrested, Charged With Son’s Murder

    DURANGO, Colo. (CBS4) – The La Plata County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Saturday that Mark Redwine, the father of Dylan Redwine, was arrested earlier Saturday and charged with his son’s murder.
    The arrest comes after a grand jury in Durango issued an indictment for probable cause against Mark Redwine.

  • Brush Fire Ignites On Ridge NW Of Loveland

    LOVELAND, Colo. (CBS4) – Fire crews northern Colorado are responding to a brush fire burning on a ridge northwest of Loveland.
    The Coyote Ridge Natural Area is now closed, according to a tweet from Fort Collins Police Services. The agency asks the public to avoid Taft Hill Road between Loveland and Fort Collins.

  • Injured Golden Eagle Recovering At Raptor Center

    PUEBLO, Colo. (AP) — A female golden eagle is recovering from a leg injury at a Colorado raptor center, and the center director hopes the bird can be returned to the wild soon.
    The Nature and Raptor Center of Pueblo says the bird was brought in Wednesday with a soft-tissue injury to her left foot. Raptor Center Director Diana Miller says Friday the eagle is feeling much better.

  • Estranged Husband Shoots Man, Self, In Colorado Springs

    COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Police in Colorado Springs say an estranged husband shot another man before turning the gun on himself.
    Officers arrived at the home at the 6000 block of Fossil Drive Friday to find the shooter dead and other man wounded in the torso. He was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
    Police say the shooter’s wife was home at the time but wasn’t hurt.

  • Hiking Trails In Peak 2 Fire Burn Reopening

    BRECKENRIDGE, Colo. (CBS4) – Recreations trails that were closed because of the Peak 2 Fire are reopening.
    The Red, White & Blue Fire Protection District says that “fire crews completed the contingency line and constructed extensive hazard tree mitigation on and around the Miners Creek trail.”About a half mile of the trail is in the Peak 2 Fire burn area.

    DENVER (CBS4) – Severe weather caused big problems for many passengers at Denver International Airport.

    COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) – A city councilman is proposing hunting within the city limits to help control the deer population.
    Colorado Springs City Councilman Dan Knight says one option is hiring trained marksman to control the deer populations, but that might be too expensive.

  • Broncos Single Game Tickets Go On Sale Soon

    DENVER (CBS4) – Broncos single game tickets for the upcoming season will go on sale next week.
    The tickets will be available through Ticketmaster at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 26.
    About 2,000 half-price tickets per game will also go on sale then.

    Since the Broncos have sold out 365 consecutive games, dating back to 1970, getting tickets won’t be easy.

  • City Upholds Pot Shop Buffer Requirements

    DURANGO, Colo. (CBS4) – City officials are working to keep marijuana shops away from schools in southwestern Colorado.
    The city council voted to uphold its buffers, which requires marijuana business to be at least 250 feet away from parks with playgrounds.
