    Denver Among Cities Listed In Report To Criminalize In Homeless
    DENVER (CBS4)– Denver is among the cities criticized in a new report about cities that boost policies to criminalize homelessness.
    The National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty said Tuesday many cities have banned living in vehicles, camping in public areas and panhandling.
    The center says policies that criminalize homelessness harm communities because they create barriers to employment, housing and education.

    FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) – Colorado State University has received the largest gift in its history, $53.3 million to the engineering college for scholarships, faculty and research.
    CSU said Tuesday the gift is from Walter Scott Jr. of Omaha, Nebraska, a former board chairman of Colorado-based Level 3 Communications.
    Scott is a 1953 graduate of CSU, then known as Colorado A&M. The engineering college will be renamed the Walter Scott Jr. College of Engineering.

    DENVER (AP) – Denver has approved a first-in-the-nation law allowing people to use marijuana in bars and restaurants.
    Denver voters weighed in on Proposition 300 as eight other states legalized marijuana for medical or recreational purposes last week.
    The city measure allows bars and restaurants to apply to allow marijuana use. Patrons could use pot inside as long as it isn’t smoked, with the possibility of outside smoking areas.

    DENVER (AP) — A jury has convicted the last of three suspects charged in the shooting death of a 61-year-old man in his northwest Denver home.
    Prosecutors announced Monday that 29-year-old Derek Webb was convicted last week of murder, burglary and aggravated robbery stemming from the May 2015 death of Samuel Grady. Webb is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 16.
