  RICHARDSON, Texas (KXAN) — A Richardson police officer was shot and killed Wednesday night by an active shooter, police said.
  Dallas NBC affiliate KXAS reported the officer was shot by a barricaded gunman in a unit at the Breckinridge Point Apartment Homes at 4250 E. Renner Rd. in Richardson, a suburb about 15 miles northeast of downtown Dallas.

  VERO BEACH, Fla. (AP) — A Florida firefighter who is seven-months pregnant is being told by her bosses that she will have to carry out her normal duties until she gives birth.

  AUSTIN (KXAN) — Derrick Lamont Davis’ mother, Brenda Evans, still remembers that Sunday summer 27 years ago. That’s when she got a call saying her son was killed.
  Evans now lives in Pflugerville, but when Davis was stabbed to death, they were both living in northeast Austin.
