• Police: Witness helps catch Juneau robbery suspect

  JUNEAU — Juneau police say they were able to arrest a robbery suspect with the help of a witness who chased the man down and detained him until officers arrived.
  The Juneau Empire reports that officers had responded Sunday night to a report that Michael Hoyt, 38, had taken a cellphone from another man. A 45-year-old Juneau man who had been nearby then stepped in to stop Hoyt.

  The widows of the two men murdered by a co-worker at Coast Guard Base Kodiak four years ago have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the U.S. government.
  Nicola Belisle and Debora Hopkins, the wives and executors for their late husbands’ estates, are each seeking more than $1.1 million in damages.

• Floatplane crash injures 4 people

  Four people were seriously injured after a de Havilland Beaver float plane crashed Monday afternoon on Mirror Lake, south of Kokhanok, 35 miles south of Iliamna.
  There were no fatalities.
  The Beaver had six passengers and a pilot and taking off after a day’s fishing on Moraine Creek.
  The crash “occurred during the airplane’s takeoff run,” said Mitchell Gallo, a senior air safety investigator with the National Transportation Safety Board.

• 13 injured in RV crash on Richardson Highway

  A recreational vehicle crashed into the back of a tour bus Sunday on the Richardson Highway, or Alaska Route 4, injuring more than a dozen people.
  The northbound bus was making a left turn off the highway to the Princess Lodge in Copper Center, when the RV hit it, according to Alaska State Troopers.

  ANCHORAGE — Anchorage police have released the name of the man struck and killed by an unknown driver Saturday morning on the Glenn Highway.
  Joshua Goodlataw, 22, was struck as he walked on the highway between Muldoon Road and Boniface Parkway, police said.

• Denali National Park officials make plans to reopen road

  ANCHORAGE — The only road into Alaska’s Denali National Park is expected to completely reopen Tuesday if the weather cooperates and steep terrain nearby remains stable.

  A sewer mainline broke early Monday morning near Zimovia Highway, spilling 20,000 gallons of raw sewage into Wrangell’s inner harbor.

• Anchorage homeowner shot during interrupted burglary

  ANCHORAGE — A homeowner was shot and wounded early Monday by a man attempting to burglarize his home in southwest Anchorage.
  Police say the homeowner was struck in the abdomen. He underwent surgery and is expected to survive.

• Teen dies after raft overturns in Anchorage’s Eagle River

  A 14-year-old boy died Sunday in a rafting accident on Eagle River in Anchorage.
  A raft carrying the boy and his 30-year-old brother capsized in the river at about 7 p.m., Alaska State Troopers said.
  Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson Fire Department personnel rescued the older brother. He was transported to a hospital and released.
