    Coronavirus pushes the Dew Tour in Long Beach from May to September
    The fifth annual Dew Tour, a pro skateboard competition that was set to return to Long Beach May 7-10  has been postponed to Sept. 10-13 due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, tour officials announced Monday.
    The competition is made up of male and female pro skateboarders competing in single and team events. The event was scheduled to be the last official qualifying event in the U.S. for the Tokyo Olympics, which have been postponed to 2021.

    Five more coronavirus deaths reported in LA County as number of cases tops 2,000
    The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Los Angeles has surpassed 2,000 people, Los Angeles County public health officials announced Sunday, March 29.
    Officials also reported five new deaths related to COVID-19, the disease resulting from the novel coronavirus, and 332 new cases. A total of 2,136 residents of the county are now confirmed to have contracted the disease as of Sunday, according to county health officials. There have been 37 confirmed deaths.

    Long Beach officials announced 11 new cases of the novel coronavirus on Sunday, March 29, bringing the city’s total to 99. There were no additional deaths announced.
