    Mater Dei’s girls basketball team will face a familiar opponent and axiom early in the CIF-SS Open Division playoffs.
    The Monarchs, ranked No. 1 in Orange County, will play host to Trinity League rival and No. 2 Rosary in the pool-play format Feb. 16. The showdown that will require Mater Dei to beat a good team for the third time this season.
    And as the saying goes, it’s hard to beat a good team three times.
