• 37 dead, 69 missing in Russian shopping center fire

    MOSCOW  — A devastating fire at a shopping center in a Siberian city killed 37 people and left 69 others missing Sunday, many of them children, a Russian state news agency reported.
    The Tass agency quoted firefighters as saying that 40 of the missing at the four-story Winter Cherry mall in Kemerovo were children. An additional 43 people were injured in the blaze, the report said.

    National Medal of Honor Day is Sunday, March 25, marking the 155th anniversary of the day the first decoration was awarded. More than 3,400 people have received the medal by distinguishing themselves beyond the call of duty.

    Mobley, an AAU coach in Los Angeles and Riverside counties for the past decade, is the father of Isaiah and Evan Mobley, two top high school recruits from Temecula.     A man was struck and killed by a Metrolink train in Mission Viejo on Saturday after laying across the train tracks, authorities said.
    The apparent suicide comes days after another man, 35-year-old Brandon Reis of Brea, was killed after he stood in front of a train in Fullerton on Wednesday.
