    GLENDALE, Ariz. — Replacing Justin Turner at third base for weeks will not be easy. Replacing him in the lineup will be even more difficult.
    Turner suffered a fractured left wrist when he was hit by a pitch in Monday’s game. He was examined by Dr. Brian Shafer on Tuesday and no surgery will be required to repair the fracture. Turner will keep his wrist in a brace for a few days before beginning range of motion exercises.

    Costa Mesa police are seeking help identifying a driver suspected of being involved in a hit-and-run that injured a cyclist on Tuesday, March 20.
    At about 8:20 a.m. Tuesday, Costa Mesa police officers were dispatched to the intersection of Bristol Street and Red Hill Avenue and found a 56-year-old male victim on the roadway.
    The victim was riding a bicycle when the car struck him, leaving him with a compound ankle fracture, police said.

    John Emme announced that Monday this will his final season as Corona del Mar’s baseball coach.
    Emme is in his 21st season coaching the Sea Kings. He led Corona del Mar to CIF-Southern Section championships in 1999 and 2004.
    The Sea Kings, who were Pacific Coast League champions last season, were 2-4 overall and 0-1 in league going into Tuesday’s league game at University.

    A bomb squad was deployed Monday evening and a man was detained after a routine traffic stop in Santa Ana turned up what police confirmed to be a live hand grenade.
