  LAS CRUCES, N.M. (KRQE) – New Mexico State University is responding to outrage caused by the decision to eliminate the equestrian team. Friday, NMSU announced the team will be allowed to compete this upcoming year, but will be phased out the next year.
  The university originally announced Wednesday the team would be cut immediately because of a budget shortfall.
