  ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A thief accused of targeting elderly people and sometimes getting violent with them is going to prison for the next 15 years.
  Patricio Ruiz, 34, was sentenced Thursday in district court after pleading guilty to robbery, conspiracy, battery and other charges.
  Ruiz was caught on surveillance video stealing an 81-year-old woman’s purse in May outside a McDonald’s at Lomas and Juan Tabo in broad daylight. He was so aggressive the woman fell to the ground.

  FARMINGTON, N.M. (AP) – Police in Farmington have identified a UPS driver who was stabbed while making deliveries.
  Authorities say 25-year-old Colton Kennedy was dropping off packages in a mobile home park Wednesday morning when a suspect repeatedly stabbed him.
  Kennedy was taken to San Juan Regional Medical Center.
  But his injuries were deemed non-life-threatening.

  MAYHILL, N.M. (KRQE) –  Crews are fighting a new fire in Lincoln National Forrest.
