• Roswell police identify suspect, victim in deadly shooting

  ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) – Roswell police have made an arrest in Sunday night’s deadly shooting.
  It happened at about 8 p.m. on the 2900 block of South Emerald Drive.
  Police say 31-year-old William Otero shot 34-year-old Ralph Pichardo after some type of confrontation.
  Police are not saying what that confrontation was about and whether the two men knew each other.
  They are looking for another man who may have been involved.

• Texas wildfire spreads into New Mexico

  SALT FLAT, TEXAS (KRQE) – Officials say a wildfire that started burning on Saturday in Guadalupe Mountains National Park has spread into New Mexico.
  Officials say the Coyote Peak Wildfire has burned over 4,500 acres on State and private lands, and high winds are continuing to push the fire north into New Mexico.
  No buildings or structures are in danger. Crews with 172 personnel are working to suppress the fire.

  LOS ALAMOS, N.M. (AP) – The American Red Cross is helping approximately 100 people displaced by a fire at an apartment complex in Los Alamos.
  Authorities say an explosion early Monday morning caused the fire and forced the shutdown of all utilities to the complex.
  The Los Alamos Monitor reports that one person was injured by the explosion and transported to a hospital for treatment.
