Carlos E. "Carl" Rye, 84, of Alma died Sunday morning, June 26, 2016. He was a retired senior chief petty officer and a 30-year Navy veteran. He served in Korea, Cuba, and Vietnam on numerous ships and stations. He was a Navy frogman and a welterweight boxer. He loved fishing, hunting and the outdoors.

ROLAND — Velma Williams of Roland was born April 10, 1914, in Roland, to John and Emma Moon. She passed away June 26, 2016, in Roland at the age of 102. She was preceded in death by her husband Sandy Williams; one daughter, Augusta Posey; and one son, Joe Nathan Williams.

Billie "Tootsie" Dean Ford of Waldron went to be with her lord and savior Tuesday, June 28, 2016, in Waldron surrounded by her loving family. Billie was born Nov. 17, 1949, to Wilber Fred Brown and Myrtel (Owens) Brown in Waldron. Billie was 66 years, 7 months and 11 days old. She was a longtime member of Haw Creek Baptist Church in Waldron.

James L. Jones, our beloved father and grandfather, was born in Ferriday, La., in 1919. At the age of 96, he quietly and peacefully passed away in the comfort of his own home in Fort Smith and went to be with his lord on June 28, 2016.

Vicki Blevins of Dallas passed away Tuesday June 28, 2016. Vicki was born in Fort Smith on Nov. 28, 1944. She graduated from Fort Smith High School in 1962. Vicki enjoyed family gatherings on the holidays, bicycle riding, where she rode 100 miles in one day, and interior design. She loved her animals Cricket, Peppy and Little Bit.

Ruby Lucille Burlingston, 92, of Alma passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2016, in a local nursing home. She was a homemaker and a resident of Crawford County for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Burlingston Sr.; her parents, Curtis and Alva (Scroggins) Cranford; one daughter, Erma Bell; and one grandson, David Allen Keck.

HEAVENER — Jackie L. Fruen, 63, of Heavener died Monday, June 27, 2016, in Fort Smith. He was born Dec. 15, 1952, in Whitewright, Texas. He worked at the country club.

Mary "Priss" Imogene McGinnis, 79, of Spiro died Wednesday, June 29, 2016, in Fort Smith. She was born July 7, 1936, in Prague, Okla. She was the widow of Richard McGinnis.

BOKOSHE — Randy Lee Collins Sr., 50, of Bokoshe, died Sunday, June 26, 2016, in Bokoshe. He was born April 16, 1966, in Fort Smith.

SALLISAW — Joe Marion "Jody" Welch, 85, of Sallisaw died Sunday, June 26, 2016, in Olathe, Kan. He was retired from Hastings Motor Co., was co-owner of J&L Enterprises, an Air Force veteran and the widower of Lorelei Welch.

Tyanne Lee, 63, of Muldrow died Sunday, June 26, 2016, in Muldrow. She was a homemaker and a Christian.

SUGAR GROVE — Florence Elizabeth Smith, 94, of Sugar Grove died Monday, June 27, 2016. She was born March 15, 1922, on Flood Mountain. She was a member of Sugar Grove Pentecostal Church of God and the widow of Charles Smith.

Linda Louise Spencer, 62, of Fort Smith died Monday, June 20, 2016, in Fort Smith. She was born April 30, 1954, in McKinney, Texas. She was a Pentecostal.

DECATUR -- Mindy Rachelle Walter, 42, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at her home with her family by her side. She fought a long battle with cancer but always had a big smile on her face.
