Rosamond Lavern Hicks, 91, of Fort Smith passed away Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016, in a local hospital. She was born in Booneville to Dock and Edith Estell (Moore) Lovett. She and her husband owned Hicks Janitorial Service and she was a homemaker for many years. Lavern was one of the oldest and most active members of Grand Avenue Baptist Church. Cassie Anne Osborn, 33, of Van Buren passed away Monday, Jan. 11, 2016, in a Little Rock hospital. She was an Air Force veteran, serving in Afghanistan and Enduring Freedom, a member of VFW No. 8845 in Fort Smith and of the Baptist faith. Billy Ray Hamilton, 82, of Fort Smith passed away Monday, Jan. 11, 2016. He was born March 9, 1933, in Van Buren to the late Isaac and Opal Hamilton. He was a retired police officer from the Fort Smith Police Department. He worked for the U.S. Marshal-Fort Smith Offices-US District Court-Court Security Office after his retirement from the Police Department. He was a member of Belle Point Masonic Lodge No. 20, Amrita Grotto, U.C.T., VFW and Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was a veteran of the Navy.
