The Rev. Mr. Robert J. Barnes, 79, of Roland passed away Monday, Jan. 11, 2016, in Fort Smith. He was born July 22, 1936, in Rocky Point, Okla., the son of Noah Dallas Barnes and Golda Lee (Long) Barnes. He married Phyllis Catooza on May 28, 1960, in Steubenville, Ohio. The Rev. Barnes was retired as a first sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a deacon at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

Marvin Dee Smart of Waldron passed from this life Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016, in Waldron, surrounded by his loving family. Marvin was born Aug. 7, 1938, to Dee Willis Smart and Roberta (Massey) Smart in Pleasant Plains. Marvin was 77 years, 5 months and 3 days old.

Vicki Jean Yates, 67, of Hackett entered into rest Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016. She was born Sept. 24, 1948, in Fort Smith to the late James “Doc” and Ann Farley-Holmes. She was a former secretary for Hackett Elementary, High School and superintendent for 35 years and was of the Baptist Faith. She was preceded in death by her favorite pets, Sir Kirk Gibson “Bassett Hound” of Hoot Owl Holler and Jesse “Poodle.”

Robert Paul Yamin, 70, of Van Buren passed away Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016, in his home. He was born July 19, 1945, in Fort Smith to the late Louis and Isobel Yamin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two nephews, Christopher Graham and Kevin Graham.

Memorial service for Harold E. Keating, 91, of Monroe, La., was Wednesday in the chapel at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road in Monroe with the Rev. Johnny Funderburg and the Rev. Ben McGehee officiating. Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Friday at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith.

Clara Mae Holloway, 83, of Arkoma died Jan. 11, 2016, in Fort Smith. She was born June 22, 1932, in Evansville to James E. and Emma Pearl Collins Holloway. She was of the Baptist faith.

Bradley Dean Jesson, beloved husband, father and grandfather and a pillar of Arkansas’s legal community, died Jan. 11, 2016. He was 83.

Becky Goines, 87, of Van Buren passed away Monday, Jan. 11, 2016, in Alma. She was born Aug. 12, 1928, in Crawford County to the late James and Mary Collins. She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ.

Trent Lee Goodman, 52, of Fort Smith died Dec. 23, 2015, in Fort Smith. He was born Nov. 19, 1963, in Dallas.

TULSA — Shaun Damian Wade Green and Shane Ashton Albright Green, infant sons of Shyanna Lusk and Wade Green, were born Jan. 7, 2016. Shaun died Jan. 8, 2016, in Tulsa. Shane died Jan. 10, 2016, in Tulsa.

BONANZA — Maria Schmutz, 87, of Bonanza died Jan. 8, 2016, in Fort Smith. She was born June 15, 1928, in El Paso, Texas. She was a waitress at many different restaurants, a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and the widow of Frank Schmutz.

SHADY POINT — Ida Merle Wright Smith, 84, of Shady Point died Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016, in Poteau. She was born Dec. 9, 1931, in Booneville. She retired as a telephone operator from Allied Telephone and was a member of Shady Point First Assembly of God.
