  2024 ACC Champion in the 200 butterfly Noah Bowers has announced his retirement from competitive swimming. Bowers competed collegiately for NC State and had qualified for the 2024 US Olympic Trials.
  Bowers just finished his fifth year with NC State after arriving in fall 2019. As a freshman, he made two ACC ‘B’ finals and one ACC ‘C’ final but did not qualify for the NCAA Championships that were eventually canceled due to COVID-19.

  After leading the St. Xavier boys to their 36th Kentucky state title in a row, head coach Todd Larkin was named National Coach of the Year earlier this week by the National High School Coaches Association (NHSCA).
  Larkin, who graduated from the Louisville-based St. Xavier in 1986, has guided the program to state titles for the past 15 years. St. Xavier is tied with Florida’s Bolles School for the longest active streak in the country.

• Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo’s Seine Swim Postponed After Heavy Rains in May

  A planned swim in the Seine by French Mayor Anne Hidalgo that was scheduled for Sunday, June 23rd, will “probably be postponed,” local media is reporting after speaking to city officials.

  In what has become a US Olympic Swimming Trials tradition, above-average temperatures are in store for Indianapolis for the duration of the meet.
  After comfortable temperatures in the 70s starting early next week, The Weather Channel projects temperatures to rise to 88 degrees Fahrenheit (31 Celsius) on the meet’s opening day on Saturday. Highs should hover around 90 degrees for the duration of the meet and lows will be in the low 70s.
