It's how The Flaming Lips would sound if they quit goofing around with avant-space-jazz.Taking to the stage just after 8:30pm with a 10pm curfew, it's apparent right from the off that this gig is going to be 'The Grandaddy Show', and what a show it is; a stunning reminder of the band's spaced out, hazy stoner rock which we never thought.

    A Nottingham school's teddy bear has gone where no other mascot has gone before - to space. Pupils at Djanogly Strelley Academy strapped 'Ted' to a large balloon and launched him 30,000 metres into space as part of a science experiment. All of the school, on Helston Drive in Strelley, watched the launch on Wednesday and the whole thing was filmed until the balloon and teddy bear crashed back down to earth - near Skegness.
