Aldi has invested £750m in a new 20-year deal with its Kent-based fruit supplier AC Goatham & Son.
The agreement will see the creation of ‘Aldi Orchard’, a 200 acre-plot growing a mix of Gala and Braeburn apples exclusively for the discounter.

Currys has been named by Microsoft as its first official retail repair partner in the UK.
The electricals retailer has received the title of authorised service provider, meaning any customers with Microsoft Surface laptops can now get their laptops repaired with Currys.
Users can get access to in-person support at any of the retailer’s 300 UK and Ireland stores before the product is booked in for a technical repair.

Boots saw profits shoot up last year, as beauty sales soared and more shoppers visited stores.
Pre-tax profits rose more than 42% at the health and beauty retailer to £237.6m for the year to 31 August, largely due to higher profit margins, new filings for three UK subsidiaries at Companies House reported.
