• Inmate Dies After Attack At California Prison

  IMPERIAL, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say a California prison inmate has died after he was attacked by two other prisoners.
  It’s the second death of a state prison inmate in two days.
  State corrections officials say the 32-year-old man was beaten by two inmates Friday in a recreation yard at Centinela State Prison in Imperial.
  Guards broke up the fight and began life-saving measures but the victim died at a hospital.

  TAHOE (CBS13) — The Tahoe Truckee Rescue Team responded to Eagle Falls in Emerald Bay Friday evening to recover the body of a young woman who was reportedly taking pictures at the falls, lost her footing and went over.
  Officials say the incident happened just before 3 p.m. Friday. They said the woman was not alone and bystanders witnessed the tragedy.

• 10-Year-Old Blind Husky Rescued From Drainage Pipe In Sacramento

  SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A dog is safe after it became stuck in a drainage pipe in Sacramento.
  The incident happened in the 100 block of Commerce Circle. The dog, a 10-year-old blind husky, was hoisted out by a technical rescue group using a tripod system around 8:30 a.m.  Friday.

  BOSTON (CBS13) — A Folsom man is expected to plead guilty in the college admissions case.
  Steven Masera, 69, is the former accountant and financial officer for the Edge College & Career Network and the Key Worldwide Foundation.
