  SACRAMENTO (AP) – The California Senate has voted to let pet owners volunteer their animals to donate blood.
  Currently, California only allows pet blood transfusions from blood banks that only accept blood from animals that are kept on site for that purpose to avoid diseases.
  Animal rights groups say holding animals captive solely for their blood is wrong. Senators approved a bill, 37-0, on Tuesday that would allow pet owners to volunteer their animals to donate blood.

• Small Quake Shakes Eureka Region Of California Coast

  EUREKA (AP) – The U.S. Geological Survey says a part of the Northern California coast was shaken by a small earthquake.
  The magnitude 3.8 quake occurred at 10:19 a.m. Tuesday and was centered in wilderness 13 miles (21 kilometers) southeast of Eureka.
  The agency says several hundred people in Eureka, Arcata, Fortuna and other communities reported the shaking as light or weak.

  GRASS VALLEY (CBS13) – Authorities say two people are dead after a late Monday night shooting in Grass Valley.
  Grass Valley police say the incident happened just before 10 p.m. on Glenwood Road.
  Officers found a man and a woman with multiple gunshot wounds. Both of them were pronounced dead at the scene by medics.
  A suspect, identified as Michael Pocock, was found and arrested in a residence nearby.

  FAIRFIELD (CBS13) – Authorities say no officers were hurt after a shooting that left a suspect critically injured in Fairfield early Tuesday morning.
  Fairfield police say the incident began a little after 2 a.m. when dispatchers got a call from an alarm company about break-in at a business on Horizon Drive.

  STOCKTON (CBS13) — Residents from a Stockton apartment complex damaged by hail Sunday are scrambling to find a place to live.
  It’s moving day for folks who live at Meadow Green Apartments after the city posted a notice to vacate on doors there.
  “They told us it’s hazardous and we could not stay here-but our belongings could stay here,” said Lisa Cardenas.
