  GALT (CBS13) – Authorities have arrested a man and a woman after a kick-in burglary at a Galt home on Tuesday.
  The incident happened near Singletree Court and Lincoln Way.
  Galt police say two suspects kicked in the door to a home in the area a little before 5:30 p.m. Several items were taken from the home before the suspects ran off.

• California Raises More Than $800 Million In Carbon Auction

  SACRAMENTO (AP) – California raised more than $800 million from selling permits to release greenhouse gases in the latest quarterly auction.
  Auction results released Wednesday show all available permits were sold through California’s cap-and-trade program. The program requires polluters to obtain permits for each ton of carbon they release.
  Sixty percent of the revenue is earmarked for specific projects including a high-speed train planned to run between San Francisco and Los Angeles

  BUTTE COUNTY (CBS13) — The Butte County Sheriff Department is harnessing the power of DNA in an effort to quickly identify human remains. The sheriff is asking relatives with missing family to volunteer their own DNA using a cheek swab, to help them make a match.

  SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) – The Sacramento County district attorney’s office says sheriff’s deputies were justified when they shot to death a rock-throwing man who wounded a deputy and a police dog.
