    SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – After 58 years of business, Sacramento’s House of Fashion Bridal Salon and Tuxedo will be closing its doors.
    The owners, David and Karen Murai, say e-commerce has made it hard to compete in the bridal industry. They say brides would try the dress in store then buy it somewhere else online.

  • Dog With 13 Puppies Abandoned At Stockton Shelter Taken In By San Rafael Foster

    SAN RAFAEL (KPIX 5) – A San Rafael business has stepped up to foster 13 abandoned German Shepherd puppies and their mom after they were abandoned at a Stockton shelter.
    The shelter is not equipped to handle the 14 dogs or give them the care needed, so a Martinez-based animal rescue, First Responder Animal ResQ, came through to pick them up and place them with a foster home – in this case, at a pet boarding firm.

  • Turlock Man, 18, Killed In Shooting

    TURLOCK (CBS13) – An 18-year-old was killed in an apparent drive-by shooting in Turlock on Thursday night.
    The scene was along the 300 block of W. Linwood Avenue.
    Turlock police say, just before 9 p.m., they received a call reporting that two people had been shot. Officers responded to the scene in minutes, but only one shooting victim was found.
    That victim, 18-year-old Turlock resident Johnny Wilson, was soon pronounced dead by medics.

    SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — A 62-year-old demonstrator was at fault when she was injured by a Sacramento County sheriff’s patrol vehicle while protesting the killing of an unarmed black man by police, investigators said Friday.

  • Flooding Irrigation Being Studied In Acampo Field

    ACAMPO (CBS13) — Fourteen acres of vineyards in Acampo were flooded with water coming from the Mokelumne River as part of a program started by local farmers Thursday. The process is called groundwater recharge and has gained statewide attention since the practice launched two years ago.

    4:20 p.m. UPDATE: Regional Transit says the Union Pacific train crash is not stopping service in the area, but Route 51 passengers cannot be dropped off at the Broadway light rail station.
