    Patrick Wells, listed as a senior Economics major on the Aggie athletics website, was arrested Saturday on charges of felony domestic assault, false imprisonment and petty theft.
    UC Davis notes that Wells has been suspended from the football team in light of the arrest. He faces dismissal if the charges prove true, the school says.

    According to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department, a shooting victim showed up at a fire station on North Haven Drive. The shooting reportedly happened near A Street and Georgia Drive.

    SAN FRANCISCO (AP) – In a victory for teacher unions, the California Supreme Court decided Monday to let the state’s teacher tenure law stand.
    The high court decided not to review a lower court ruling that upheld tenure and other job protections for teachers. That ruling came in a lawsuit by a group of students who claimed that incompetent teachers were almost impossible to fire because of tenure laws and that schools in poor neighborhoods were dumping grounds for bad teachers.

    ESCALON (CBS13) — A horrific hit-and-run accident near Stockton Saturday night claimed the life of an off-duty Stockton police officer. 28-year old Justin Kepler was riding his motorcycle along Highway 120 and Brennen Road in Escalon, when a Chevrolet truck careened into him.
    The driver of the truck took off, leaving good Samaritans to help the officer.
