    One of the borough’s most state-of-the-art culinary kitchens is not in a high-end restaurant but inside Allie’s Place, a shelter for homeless families in the Soundview neighborhood of the Bronx. 
    At Allie’s Place Center for Culinary Education and Employment, shelter residents — and anyone else in the city — can learn everything they need to begin a restaurant career, all for free.

    Bronx detectives probe deadly shooting, question person of interest
    Bronx detectives are questioning a person of interest connected to a deadly shooting on Friday evening.
    Police said Marcus Henderson, 37, was gunned down at his home at 1825 Topping Ave. in Mount Hope at about 5:57 p.m. on May 24.
    Officers from the 46th Precinct, in responding to a 911 call about the shooting, found Henderson with a gunshot wound to his right leg. EMS rushed him to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he died a short time later.

    Gun Hill Brewery has been an institution in the Bronx for a decade. People fell in love with the atmosphere — and beer — and the brewery was a place where strangers became friends. On May 18, it served its last drink.

    Bronx cops searching for creep who repeatedly raped a 12-year-old girl
    Police are searching for a suspect who repeatedly raped a 12-year-old girl in the Bronx last year. 
    According to law enforcement sources, 30-year-old Thomas Barnaby engaged in forced sexual intercourse with the young girl multiple times between Dec. 19 and Dec. 23, 2023, inside a home near East 165th Street and River Avenue in the Concourse section of the Bronx. 
    Preliminary reports were not yet able to confirm whether Barnaby and the victim were related in any way. So far, no arrests

    Mott Haven saw a sharp 85.2% rental inventory increase from a year ago, the highest increase of any New York City neighborhood, according to StreetEasy, an online real estate platform that allows for users to buy, sell and rent homes across New York City.StreetEasy’s April market report shows that Mott Haven had 387 rentals on the market in April.
