    CARTHAGE, Miss.–Two people were killed Sunday afternoon in Leake County when a tree fell on their vehicle, said Leake Co. Coroner Earl Adams.
    Adams said the tree fell onto the front compartment of the vehicle.
    He was not ready to release names Sunday afternoon, pending the notification of the next of kin.

    Two-Car Wreck Saturday Near Walmart, People Hurt
    KOSCIUSKO, Miss.–At least two peoplewere hurt in a wreck at the red light in front of Walmart on Veterans Memorial in Kosciusko, Saturday evening.
    The wreck was reported just after 7 p.m. It involved two cars and one of them was reported to have rolled.
    An ambulance was sent on reports of people being hurt and trapped.
    No one was actually trapped, but there were people hurt. One person had head trauma and both may have been cut up.
    It was unclear what caused the wreck.

    KOSCIUSKO, Miss.–Two instances of gunshots being fired at Cannonade Apartments were reported Friday night.
    The first was just before 9:30 p.m., with several people calling police to report hearing right or nine shots. Police reponded and continued patrols, but no arrests were reported.
    The second instance was just after 11:30 p.m.
    Again, eight or nine shots were reported. Police may have made one arrest in that instance.

    People Reported to Have Chucked Trash, Made to Pick It Up
    KOSCIUSKO, Miss.–An Attala County deputy reported to dispatch Friday night that he found people responsible for dumping trash on the side of a county road.
    That hapopneed about 9:15 p.m.
    The deputy reported that the people had dumped three bags of trash and a mattress, and that he had identified and loicated them and was following them back to where it was dumped so that could pick it up.
    It was unclear if anyarrest was made.
