• Community pays respect to Franklin County firefighter

  On Tuesday, the Frankfort community celebrated and paid respects to Franklin County firefighter Kolby Tucker.The celebration included a large procession of fire and EMS vehicles from various counties across Kentucky, as small groups of citizens and police personnel also paid their respects.
  Tucker was also a member of the Kentucky National Guard. He passed away on Aug. 26. He was 24.

  A Frankfort man has been charged with two counts of assault following a domestic disturbance Sunday morning.
  At 11:21 a.m., Frankfort Police were called to a Tupelo Trail apartment complex after the female victim reported that her husband, Ryan Curtsinger, tackled her to the ground.

  A fire at Frankfort High School over the weekend has caused the school to close for the week.
  Frankfort Independent Schools Superintendent Dr. Sheri Satterly said in a post on ParentSquare.com that the fire occurred around 5:15 a.m. Sunday. The fire was contained to one classroom, but damage from the sprinkler system and the fire department was extensive.

  Franklin County’s boys golf team concluded the conference regular season Aug. 26, shooting a season-low 145 (plus five) to defeat Anderson County at Wild Turkey Trace.

  The Panthers’ touchdown came on a pass from Toma Washington to Jeramiah Washington, and Toma Washington scored the two-point conversion.
