    DENVER (AP/CBS4) – Denver Mayor Michael Hancock is ordering Denver police to temporarily stop taking camping equipment, including tents and blankets, away from homeless people because of frigid weather.
    Hancock said Saturday city enforcement of its unauthorized camping ordinance is being suspended through April because the city has a responsibility to protect residents. Hancock says he does not want people to lose their lives because of the ordinance.

    EDGEWATER, Colo. (AP) – A 12-year-old boy is in big trouble after taking his mom’s Mercedes on a joyride early Saturday and crashing into a parked car.
    Edgewater Police Chief John Mackey says the mother left the keys to her car on a table and was unaware her child was missing until she was contacted by police.

    LITTLETON, Colo. (CBS4) – First responders from Littleton Fire Rescue received crucial, hands-on training on Friday using computerized mannequins.
    They got to use state-of-the-art equipment to learn how best to treat pediatric patients.
    Children’s Hospital Colorado and the University of Colorado’s School of Medicine put on the training because because only one in every 10 medical calls are for a child and that means crews don’t get as much practice.

    A Broomfield man was convicted of first-degree murder Friday and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
