  GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (CBS4) – A 17-year-old Grand Junction male who is facing charges after police say he shot a Mesa County Sheriff’s deputy has been identified.
  On Wednesday the sheriff’s office released a statement saying Austin Holzer is suspected of shooting Deputy Derek Geer in Grand Junction.

  FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4) – A SWAT situation in Fort Collins Wednesday morning ended with an arrest of a stabbing suspect.
  Crews were called out to an apartment near the intersection of Riverside Avenue and East Prospect Road at approximately 8 a.m.

  DENVER (AP) — The Colorado Department of Revenue says it is taking extra time and care reviewing returns after seeing an increase in fraud.
  The department faced a similar challenge last year, and responded then by issuing paper checks instead of directly depositing some returns because of an increase in stolen identity information being used to file fraudulent tax returns. Department spokeswoman Ro Silva said Wednesday that issuing paper checks and other steps will be taken this year.

  TRINIDAD, Colo. (CBS4) – A Boulder man driving home through New Mexico helped end an Amber Alert and capture the suspect. The man led authorities to the suspect captured after a high-speed chase on Interstate 25.
  The witness, Joel Leach, alerted police to the suspect vehicle near Raton, New Mexico.

  DENVER (AP) – Authorities say five men conspired to send hundreds of pounds of Colorado pot to other states by hiding it in furniture and shipping it on commercial trucks.
  A forfeiture lawsuit filed Tuesday says the men also disguised pot-filled packages, once concealing weed inside a vacuum cleaner destined for New York. Court documents say the men were arrested in September, but federal prosecutors now want to take ownership of more than $60,000 seized during the investigation.
