    Gov. Hickenlooper Questions Attorney General Clean Air Suit
    DENVER (AP) – Gov. John Hickenlooper said Monday he will ask the Colorado Supreme Court whether it was legal for the state attorney general to sue the federal government over new air pollution rules even though Hickenlooper supports the rules and is trying to implement them.
    Hickenlooper said he should have made the final decision on whether Attorney General Cynthia Coffman joined 23 other states in suing the Environmental Protection Agency. Coffman said the rules are an illegal overreach.

    DENVER (AP) – A judge has declared a mistrial in the case against a Colorado man who was hired by New Mexico’s largest school district after he had been charged with sexually abusing two young boys.
    Jurors in Denver told the judge on Monday they couldn’t reach a unanimous verdict in the case against Jason Martinez.

    FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4) – The body of a hiker who was last seen last Tuesday has been found.
    According to police, Thomas Seth Mereness, 70, was last seen on Tuesday at 9 a.m. in western Fort Collins. He told his family he was going for a hike but didn’t give a location.
    Deputies found Mereness’ car near the St. Vrain Mountain Trail located at 1600 Ski Road in Allenspark on Thursday.

    Florida’s Controversial Black Bear Hunt Ends After Just 2 Days
    FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) — After just two days, Florida ended its controversial black bear hunt because a higher than expected number of bears had been killed.
    Wildlife authorities said late Sunday that 295 bears taken overall, nearing the official limit.
    The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission posted a statement on its website saying it had closed the 2015 hunt because it was approaching an agency “objective” of 320 bears overall.

    PALISADE, Colo. (CBS4) – A truck accident on Interstate 70 east Of Grand Junction near the Palisade exit caused problems on Sunday.
    The semi-truck rolled over, spilling a load of pork products onto the road.
    Both westbound lanes were closed for several hours before reopening.

    A funeral for 45-year-old Major Phyllis Pelky of Rio Rancho, New Mexico will be held Monday morning in the school’s chapel followed by a burial at the academy’s cemetery.
    Pelky was one of five people killed in the crash of a British helicopter in Kabul on Oct. 11 as it landed at a NATO post in Kabul.
