• East Otto man arrested for endangering welfare of child

    EAST OTTO, N.Y. (WIVB)- The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office took a man into custody Friday evening.
    53-year-old Jeffrey Horn was arrested on an arrest warrant for attempted criminal sexual act in the first degree, sexual abuse in the first degree and endangering the welfare of a child.
    Horn is currently being held awaiting further proceedings.

    JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (AP) — Authorities have arrested a man in connection with the disappearance of a young girl and said they will continue to use volunteers to look for the child’s body in the North Carolina woods.
    Earl Kimrey of Jacksonville was arrested late Friday and was being held at the Onslow County Detention Center on a $1 million bond in the disappearance of 3-year-old Mariah Woods, deputies said.

    HAMBURG, N.Y. (WIVB) – About 1,000 people will plunge into Lake Erie on Saturday for a good cause.
    The 11th Annual Polar Plunge to Benefit Special Olympics is happening Saturday at Woodlawn Beach.

    A celebration of life for the late Joey Scinta was held Friday at Statler City.
    Music and laughter filled the halls in honor of his legacy.
    Scinta passed away earlier this month.

  • Town of Boston man avoids jail time in June crash

    BUFFALO , N.Y. (WIVB) –  A 21-year-old Boston man who pleaded guilty to casing a crash that left his friend with serious injuries avoided jail time when he was sentenced Friday.
    Corey Sieh will be fined $1,000 and receive five years’ probation for a vehicular assault charge.
    He pleaded guilty to the charge in September.

  • Two Lovejoy residents bound with duct tape during home invasion

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Burglars took cash, a phone and about 100 Oxycodone pills during a burglary at a Lovejoy home on Thursday, binding the hands of two residents inside with duct tape.
    According to Buffalo police, three suspects entered a Davey Street home through a rear window. They then tied the hands of the victims and one of the suspects sat on one of the victims.
    One of the suspects made comments indicating he knew a relative of one of the victims.

  • Caitlyn Frisina, Florida teen missing with soccer coach, found safe in New York

    (CBS NEWS) – A missing Florida teenage girl who police said was traveling north with a 27-year-old high school soccer coach has been found safe in New York, a Florida sheriff’s office says.
    Caitlyn Frisina, 17, was found on Friday, according to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, which tweeted the news. More information about how or where she was located wasn’t immediately available. It wasn’t clear whether she was with the coach, Rian Rodriguez.
