    ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB)- A strong armed robbery was reported just before 2 a.m. at the Mighty Taco on Southwestern Blvd.
    An employee reported that a male came in with a gun, demanded money from the drawer and fled the scene. Shortly after the call came in an Orchard Park officer stopped the getaway van .3 miles away from the restaurant.

  • Teen daughter and boyfriend accused of killing father in Buffalo

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)- Two Buffalo teens were arraigned Sunday morning on second degree murder charges.
    It is alleged that 17-year-old Alexandria Heath and 19-year-old Romaine Jirdon beat and stabbed 58-year-old Thomas Heath in their West Ferry home Friday night.
    Heath and Jirdon pleaded not guilty and were remanded to jail without bail. If convicted of the charge, the defendants face a maximum of 25 years to life in prison.

  • Woman files lawsuit against Hoyt over sexual harassment allegations

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB)- News 4 has confirmed the woman accusing former state official Sam Hoyt of sexual harassment has now filed a federal lawsuit against Hoyt and Governor Cuomo.
    Hoyt was appointed by Gov. Cuomo to lead Empire State Development Corporation in Buffalo. He stepped down last month.

  • Cowpok 3rd Annual Semicolon Tattoo Event

    BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) – Dozens of people went under the needle today to bring awareness to a bigger problem that hits close to home for many people.
    Cowpok piercing hosted it’s third annual semicolon tattoo event. People paid $40 for a tattoo to show support for those struggling with thoughts of suicide and addiction.

  • 2,600 coats given to families Saturday through “Coats 4 Kids”

    KENMORE, N.Y. (WIVB) — In just two weeks, 4,100 coats have been donated to families in need through the News 4 and Colvin Cleaners “Coats 4 Kids” campaign.
    Saturday alone, 2,000 coats were distributed at Colvin Cleaners in Kenmore.
    There was a line of people out the door, including more than 130 families from Puerto Rico who were there to pick up new coats.
    These are families who left the island following Hurricane Maria. Many of them came to Buffalo with nothing.
